Preparation
1. In a medium-sized bowl , mix the mayonnaise (1 cup) and buttermilk (¼ cup). Add the mayonnaise first and the buttermilk second. Mix well, but be careful not to overly thin the mixture.
2. Add the grated Parmesan cheese (¼ cup) to the mixture and mix until the cheese is incorporated.
3. Add the blue cheese crumbles (2 Tbsp) and mix gently. Do not try to smoothen the mixture; a lumpy texture is desired.
4. Season the sauce with garlic powder (1 tsp), onion powder (1 tsp), salt, and pepper. Mix gently to evenly disperse the seasonings.
5. Let the sauce sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.
No Buttermilk?
1. To make ¼ cup of buttermilk substitute, combine ¼ cup milk and ¼ teaspoon of lemon juice or white vinegar, and let it sit for 10 minutes.
