1 cup | Mayonnaise |
¼ cup | Buttermilk (See notes below if you don't have buttermilk) |
¼ cup | Grated Parmesan cheese |
2 Tbsp | Blue cheese crumbles |
1 tsp | Garlic powder |
1 tsp | Onion powder |
to taste | Salt |
to taste | Pepper |
1. In a medium-sized bowl, mix the mayonnaise (1 cup) and buttermilk (¼ cup). Add the mayonnaise first and the buttermilk second. Mix well, but be careful not to overly thin the mixture. |
2. Add the grated Parmesan cheese (¼ cup) to the mixture and mix until the cheese is incorporated. |
3. Add the blue cheese crumbles (2 Tbsp) and mix gently. Do not try to smoothen the mixture; a lumpy texture is desired. |
4. Season the sauce with garlic powder (1 tsp), onion powder (1 tsp), salt, and pepper. Mix gently to evenly disperse the seasonings. |
5. Let the sauce sit for 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate. |
1. To make ¼ cup of buttermilk substitute, combine ¼ cup milk and ¼ teaspoon of lemon juice or white vinegar, and let it sit for 10 minutes. |
