
| 1 ½ Tbsp | Chili Powder (see notes for substitution option) |
| ¼ tsp | Garlic powder |
| ¼ tsp | Onion powder |
| ¼ tsp | Dried oregano, crushed with your fingers |
| ½ tsp | Paprika (or smoked Paprika) |
| 1 ½ tsp | Ground cumin |
| 1 tsp | Salt |
| 1 tsp | Fresh ground black pepper |
| ¼ cup | Water |
| 1. Combine all ingredients. |
| 2. Brown 1 pound of ground beef or chicken. |
| 3. Add spices (1 ½ Tbsp Chili Powder, ¼ tsp Garlic powder, ¼ tsp Onion powder, ¼ tsp Dried oregano, ½ tsp Paprika, 1 ½ tsp Ground cumin, 1 tsp Salt, 1 tsp Fresh ground black pepper) and ¼ cup of water. |
| 4. Simmer gently for at least 10 minutes until the water is cooked off. |
| 1. No Chili powder? Substitute more of the other ingredients and add ½ tsp cayenne pepper. |
| 2. Add some accent / MSG for more umami flavor. |
| 3. Make adjustments to salt, pepper, and chili powder levels as you're simmering the meat. |
