
| 2 racks (about 4-5 lbs.) | Baby back pork ribs, membrane removed |
| 1/4 cup | Brown sugar |
| 2 Tbsp. | Paprika |
| 1 Tbsp. | Chili powder |
| 1 Tbsp. | Garlic powder |
| 1 tsp. | Onion powder |
| 1 Tbsp. | Kosher salt |
| 1 tsp. | Black pepper |
| 1/4 tsp. | Cayenne pepper |
| 1/2 cup | Apple juice |
| 1 1/2 cups | Barbecue sauce |
| 1. Preheat the oven to 275°F. |
| 2. Remove the thin membrane from the back of each rack of ribs and pat the ribs dry with paper towels. |
| 3. Combine the brown sugar (1/4 cup), paprika (2 Tbsp.), chili powder (1 Tbsp.), garlic powder (1 Tbsp.), onion powder (1 tsp.), salt (1 Tbsp.), pepper (1 tsp.), and cayenne (1/4 tsp.) in a small bowl . |
| 4. Rub the spice mixture evenly over both sides of the ribs. |
| 5. Line two large baking sheets with heavy-duty aluminum foil, leaving enough overhang to fold over the ribs. |
| 6. Place a rack of ribs, meat-side up, on each prepared baking sheet. |
| 7. Pour 1/4 cup of the apple juice over each rack of ribs. |
| 8. Fold the foil up and over the ribs and crimp the edges to seal tightly. |
| 9. Bake for 2 1/2 to 3 hours, until the meat is very tender. |
| 10. Remove the ribs from the oven and increase the oven temperature to broil. |
| 11. Carefully open the foil packets and drain off the excess liquid. |
| 12. Brush the ribs generously with 1 cup of the barbecue sauce. |
| 13. Broil the ribs, uncovered, for 3 to 5 minutes, until the sauce is bubbly and lightly charred. |
| 14. Let the ribs rest for 5 minutes before slicing between the bones. |
| 15. Serve with the remaining 1/2 cup of barbecue sauce on the side. |
