
| 1 1/2 cups | All-purpose flour |
| 1/4 cup | Black sesame powder |
| 1/2 tsp. | Baking soda |
| 1/2 tsp. | Baking powder |
| 1/2 tsp. | Salt |
| 1/2 cup | Unsalted butter, melted and cooled |
| 1/3 cup | Granulated sugar |
| 1/3 cup | Light brown sugar, packed |
| 1 | Large egg |
| 1 tsp. | Vanilla extract |
| 1 tsp. | Toasted sesame oil |
| 3 Tbsp. | Granulated sugar, for rolling |
| 1 Tbsp. | Black sesame seeds, for topping |
| 1/2 tsp. | Flaky salt, for topping |
| 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. |
| 2. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. |
| 3. Whisk together the flour, black sesame powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl . |
| 4. Stir together the melted butter, 1/3 cup granulated sugar, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, and toasted sesame oil in a large bowl until smooth. |
| 5. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture. |
| 6. Mix until no dry spots remain. |
| 7. Place the 3 tablespoons granulated sugar for rolling in a small shallow bowl . |
| 8. Scoop the dough into 2-tablespoon balls. |
| 9. Roll each ball in the sugar to coat. |
| 10. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 3 inches apart. |
| 11. Press a few black sesame seeds onto the top of each cookie. |
| 12. Sprinkle each cookie lightly with flaky salt. |
| 13. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers still look slightly soft. |
| 14. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for 5 minutes. |
| 15. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely. |
