| 1. Melt the unsalted butter (3 Tbsp) in a saucepan over medium heat. |
| 2. Add the all-purpose flour (2 Tbsp) and whisk until combined. |
| 3. Gradually pour in the whole milk (2 cups), whisking constantly until smooth. |
| 4. Add the ground black pepper (½ tsp), salt (½ tsp), onion powder (½ tsp), garlic powder (½ tsp), and cayenne pepper (¼ tsp), stirring until well combined. |
| 5. Cook for about 10-15 minutes, or until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency, stirring occasionally. |
| 6. Serve hot with biscuits and fried chicken. |
