Copycat In-N-Out Animal Style Fries
Crispy fries topped with melted American cheese, sweet caramelized onions, and a tangy, creamy In-N-Out-style sauce, broiled until gooey and golden

Ingredients
For the Caramelized Onions
1 Tbsp.Butter
1 largeYellow onion, thinly sliced
1/4 tsp.Salt
For the Sauce
1/2 cupMayonnaise
2 Tbsp.Ketchup
2 Tbsp.Sweet pickle relish
1 tsp.Yellow mustard
1/2 tsp.White vinegar
For the Fries
24 oz.Frozen shoestring French fries
4American cheese slices
Preparation
1.  Bake the frozen fries on a baking sheet according to the package instructions until crispy.
2.  While the fries bake, melt the butter in a skillet over medium-low heat.
3.  Add the onion and salt, and cook, stirring occasionally, until deeply golden and caramelized, about 35 to 40 minutes.
4.  Whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, pickle relish, mustard, and vinegar in a small bowl to make the sauce.
5.  Preheat the broiler to high.
6.  Spread the cooked fries in an even layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
7.  Lay the American cheese slices over the top of the fries.
8.  Broil for 2 to 3 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
9.  Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the melted cheese.
10.  Drizzle the sauce over the top and serve immediately.
