
| 1 lb | Ground beef, pork, turkey, or chicken |
| 3 | Garlic cloves, minced |
| 1 | Onion, chopped |
| 1 cup | Broccoli, finely chopped |
| 1 cup | Fresh Spinach, chopped |
| 2 Tbsp | Brown sugar |
| ⅓ cup | Soy sauce |
| 2 tsp | Sesame oil |
| 1 tsp | Fresh ginger, finely chopped |
| pinch | Chili pepper flakes |
| to taste | Black pepper |
| to taste | Sesame seeds for garnish |
| ¼ cup | Chopped peanuts for garnish |
| 1 or 2 | Green onions, chopped, for garnish |
| 2-3 cups | Brown or white rice, cooked |
| 1. Cook rice. |
| 2. In a large sauté pan , cook the ground meat (1 lb), onion (1, chopped), garlic (3, minced), broccoli (1 cup), and spinach (1 cup) until the meat is lightly browned and no longer raw. |
| 3. Break the ingredients into small pieces while cooking. |
| 4. In a separate bowl , stir together the brown sugar (2 Tbsp), soy sauce (⅓ cup), sesame oil (2 tsp), ginger (1 tsp), chili pepper flakes (pinch), and black pepper (pinch). |
| 5. Stir the mixed sauce into the browned meat and vegetables and let it simmer. |
| 6. Cook until the sauce thickens. |
| 7. Scoop cooked rice (2-3 cups) into each serving bowl and top with the cooked mixture. |
| 8. Garnish with sesame seeds, peanuts, and green onions. |
