Taco or Fajita Spices for Beef or Chicken
Make your own taco seasoning with spices you probably already have.

Ingredients
1 ½ TbspChili Powder (see notes for substitution option)
¼ tspGarlic powder
¼ tspOnion powder
¼ tspDried oregano, crushed with your fingers
½ tspPaprika (or smoked Paprika)
1 ½ tspGround cumin
1 tspSalt
1 tspFresh ground black pepper
¼ cupWater
Preparation
1.  Combine the chili powder (1 ½ Tbsp), garlic powder (¼ tsp), onion powder (¼ tsp), dried oregano (¼ tsp), paprika (½ tsp), ground cumin (1 ½ tsp), salt (1 tsp), and fresh ground black pepper (1 tsp) in a bowl .
2.  Brown 1 pound of ground beef or chicken.
3.  Add spices and 1/4 cup of water.
4.  Simmer gently for at least 10 minutes until the water is cooked off.
Notes
1.  No Chili powder? Substitute more of the other ingredients and add 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper.
2.  Add some accent / MSG for more umami flavor.
3.  Make adjustments to salt, pepper, and chili powder levels as you're simmering the meat.
