1 ½ Tbsp | Chili Powder (see notes for substitution option) |
¼ tsp | Garlic powder |
¼ tsp | Onion powder |
¼ tsp | Dried oregano, crushed with your fingers |
½ tsp | Paprika (or smoked Paprika) |
1 ½ tsp | Ground cumin |
1 tsp | Salt |
1 tsp | Fresh ground black pepper |
1. Combine all ingredients |
2. Brown 1 pound of ground beef or chicken. |
3. Add spices and 1/4 cup of water. Simmer gently for at least 10 minutes until water is cooked off. |
1. No Chili powder? Substitute more of the other ingredients and add 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper. |
2. Add some accent / MSG for more umami flavor. |
3. Make adjusmtents to salt, pepper, and chili powder levels as you're simmering the meat. |
