2-3 pounds | Pork roast |
1 | Yellow onion (small or medium), peeled and chopped in quarters or eighths |
3 | Garlic cloves, peeled |
1 to 2 Tbsp | Seasoned salt |
½ c | Water |
¾ c | BBQ sauce |
as needed | Buns |
as needed | Pickle slices |
as needed | Cole slaw |
1. Pat the pork roast dry with paper towels. |
2. Sprinkle seasoned salt (1 to 2 Tbsp) on all sides of the roast. |
3. Cut 3 slits in different spots on the roast and push in peeled garlic cloves (3). |
4. Add the roast, yellow onion quarters or eighths, and water (½ c) to the slow cooker . |
5. Cover and cook for 8 hours on low. |
6. Remove the roast to a cutting board or pan . |
7. Discard the onions and all but 1/4 cup of the juice from the crock pot. © FirstPageRecipes.com |
8. Using a pair of forks, shred the roast and return it to the crock pot. |
9. Stir in BBQ sauce, ¾ cup or more to taste. |
10. Reheat and serve with buns, pickle slices, and cole slaw. |
